Doris Hughes

Doris Hughes, 64, of Kansas City, MO, passed away March 14, 2026 at her home.

Mrs. Hughes was born May 1, 1961 at Excelsior Springs Hospital to Delbert and Donna O’Dell Shea.

Doris graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1979. She worked for Farmland Industries as a print buyer. She enjoyed mushroom hunting and restoring vintage furniture as well as gardening.

She was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Shea, in 1999.

Survivors include her husband, Burton Hughes; daughter, Anne Hughes; mother, Donna Werle; sisters, Debra O’Dell and Denice Belcher; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2026 with service following at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 217 W. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, MO.
