Wilma Dean

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wilma Jean Dean of Lawson, Missouri, a true angel on earth, who was called home by the Lord on March 30, 2026 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Wilma Jean was born on October 10, 1953, in Cameron, Missouri. She was a well-educated, devoted Christian woman whose faith guided every part of her life. She was known for her kindness, grace, and unwavering love for others. Family was everything to her, and she treasured every moment spent with those she loved most.

She dedicated 33 years of her career to Labconco Corp, where she worked in the computer field with diligence and pride. Her strong work ethic and commitment left a lasting impression on her colleagues.

Wilma Jean was deeply involved in her church, where she attended Sunday school and found great joy in growing her faith alongside others. She also shared her love of music by playing the piano, a gift that brought comfort and happiness to those around her.

Her strength, faith, and gentle spirit were evident even through her illness, and she remained a source of inspiration to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Stonum, and her mother, Carolyn Stonum.

Wilma Jean is survived by her husband, Wayne Dean, the love of her life for 47 years, 9 months, and 20 days. Together, a hippie and a farm girl, they proved a groovy kind of love — one rooted in devotion, laughter, and years of shared joy. She is also survived by her loving daughter, Janice Wheeler, who was truly her world. The bond they shared was deeply special — filled with unconditional love, understanding, and a closeness that will never be broken. Their relationship was one of constant support, laughter, and countless meaningful moments that will live on forever in her daughter’s heart. She is further survived by her sisters, Linda Edwards and Lisa Doyle, who shared in a deep family bond and many special moments together.

Wilma Jean will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her loving heart, strong faith, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
