Amber Dawn Sooter

Amber Dawn Sooter was born on August 17, 1969, in Kansas City, Kansas, and passed away on March 31, 2026, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

Amber was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband of more than 30 years, Chris Sooter of Kearney, Missouri; her children, Christopher Sooter of Pleasant Valley, Missouri, Crystal Stude and husband Beau Stude of Fontana, Kansas, Julian Sooter of Pleasant Valley, Missouri, and Crystal Knight of Platte City, Missouri. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Grace, Hope, Valor Stude, all of Fontana, Kansas, and Grayson Knight of Platte City, Missouri; her father, Doug and Cindy Cornett of Mountain View, Arkansas; her brothers, David Shnitz of Kansas City, Kansas, and Bill Wagner of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; as well as many close friends whose lives she touched deeply.

Amber was preceded in death by her grandson, Courage Joseph Owen Stude, in 2018; her mother, Darlene Marion Jones, in 2020; and her uncle, Walter Leroy Alexander, in 2022.

Amber had a kind heart and enjoyed making memories at Lake of the Ozarks, where she spent weekends with family and friends, took part in many float trips, and looked forward each year to girls’ weekend with her best friends.

Memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m., with funeral service at 5:30 p.m. on April 16, 2026, at Fry, Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 208 S. Jefferson Street, Kearney, Missouri 64060.

Amber will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
