Ina Berry

Ina Berry, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 80 years old. Ina was born on October 22, 1945, in Orrick, Missouri, to Leonard (Sam) Callaway and Mabel Powell, who predeceased her. Her sister, Lilly O’Dell, and her cherished husbands, Francis Lee Crowley and Ed Berry, also predeceased her.
Ina was a woman of remarkable strength, resilience, and grace. Her life was a testament to her unwavering love for family and her dedication to those she held dear. She married Francis Crowley on June 1, 1962, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories until his passing on July 4, 1995. She later found love again and remarried Ed Berry, with whom she shared the next chapter of her life.
Ina was a woman of education and ambition. She proudly earned her GED and pursued further education, embodying the spirit of lifelong learning. Her professional life was marked by her compassionate service, working for many years with Dr. Teal and Dr. Decker, where her kindness and dedication left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the community.
Family was the cornerstone of Ina’s life. She is survived by her loving children, Larry (Randy) and his wife Kathy Crowley, Mark and his wife Sylvia Crowley, Paul and his wife Shelly Crowley; and her sisters, Shirley Shelton, Marie Woods, and Alice Arthur. Her brother, Sammy Callaway, also survives her. Ina’s legacy of love extends to her 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren who were the pride and joy of her life. She found immense joy in watching them grow, guiding them with her wisdom, and sharing in their accomplishments.
Ina’s warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved, whether through her heartfelt conversations, her infectious laughter, or her home-cooked meals that brought everyone together. Her presence was a source of comfort and strength, and her memory will forever be cherished by the countless lives she enriched. As we bid farewell to Ina, we celebrate a life beautifully lived, filled with love, strength, and an indomitable spirit. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide her family for generations to come.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, April 23, 2026 with a service to honor Ina’s life following at 11:00 a.m., where family and friends will gather to celebrate her remarkable journey at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, MO. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests donations be made in her memory to Hospice, or a cancer research organization of your choice, honoring her brave fight and enduring hope for a cure. Ina Berry will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. We Love you Mom.
