Michael Bagby

Michael Bagby

Michael Bagby, 75, of Holt, Missouri, passed away on May 24, 2026. Born on April 9, 1951, Michael lived a full life centered around family, friendship, laughter, and making memories with the people he loved most.

Michael retired from Ford Motor Company after many years of hard work and dedication. Outside of work, he truly lived life to the fullest. He loved hunting, fishing, and big game trips, especially the unforgettable times spent with the Goose Club. If there was a good story being told, a grill fired up, or a cold Bud nearby, chances are Michael was right in the middle of it.

He was famous for hosting legendary 4th of July parties that friends and family will be talking about for years to come. Michael was also a talented pitmaster and proudly participated multiple times in the American Royal BBQ competition. He took his BBQ seriously — but never himself too seriously.

More than anything, Michael loved being a father, grandfather, and friend to everyone lucky enough to know him. He gave the best hugs, wore the biggest smile, and had a way of making everyone feel welcome. He never met a stranger for long.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Shelby Liberty, son-in-law, Reed Liberty, his grandson, Gage Bagby, and many other grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Stevie Bagby, and his parents, Catherine and E.J. Bagby.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the VFW in Kearney, Missouri. In true Michael fashion, family and friends are encouraged to come ready to share stories, laughter, and maybe raise a cold one in his honor.

He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and impossible to forget.

Arrangements are in care of Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home.
