
Robert W. Marrant, a life-long resident of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away on September 16, 2026. Robert was born on January 22, 1937 to Lucy Jones and Jean B Marrant.
Robert graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1955 and joined the military soon after. He served a total of 30 years in various positions retiring from the Department of the Army in 1990. Most of his military career was spent as the administrative officer for the 205th division of the military police for the Missouri National Guard. After retirement he volunteered for the Wood Heights Fire Department and the Mosby Fire Department, mowed several cemeteries, and worked as a night security officer.
He married Beverly Jamieson (Eldredge) in 1982 and they spent 44 years together prior to his death.
Robert is survived by Beverly, along with his son, Gerhard Marrant (Lori), and four step-children, Frank Eldredge (Teresa), Francine Gray, Mark Eldredge (Lee Ann), and Henry Thomas Eldredge (Ellona). Surviving siblings are Ricky (Cheryl) Marrant, Brenda(Chesley) Jones, Gary (Brenda) Marrant, and Alida (Kenny) McKee. Robert is also survived by his grandchildren, Becky Lindahl (Matt) and Tim (Hope) Marrant, along with multiple nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his step-daughter and her husband, Sharon and Michael Yarges; son-in-law, William Hershall Gray; siblings, Lucy Jean Dirck, Mary Goolsby, Justin Marrant, Henry Marrant, Dean Marrant, Billy Marrant and George Marrant.
Visitation will take place on September 27, 2026 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs. No date for a family graveside gathering has been determined.
