Alice Marie Jackson

Services will be held Monday, October 5, 2026 at Excelsior Springs Baptist Church, visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with funeral services and graveside to follow.

Alice Marie Jackson (Lynch), 78, passed away peacefully at Liberty Hospital surrounded by family on September 28, 2026.

Alice was born January 9, 1948 to Leo and Louise Lynch of Hamilton, MO. On September 11, 1966 Alice married her best friend and soul mate, Vern Arnold Jackson, Jr. and were blessed with 60 years of marriage. Through life they faced many challenges and trials among making the best of memories always with each other by their side. Alice wore many hats, and titles, from the lunch lady at the school, seamstress, quilter, associate at the Hallmark gold crown store, to bus monitor. But one of Alice’s favorite titles was Grandma. She adored and loved each of her grandchildren. Junior and Alice never missed an event for the grandkids, whether they were at the ballfields, sitting on the pond banks, tennis court, choir concerts, and theater events. Anyone Alice met quickly became a friend or adopted family, no matter what, greeting them with a hug.

Alice is proceeded in death by parents, Leo and Louise Lynch; daughter, Alisha Atkins (James); sister, Diana Bosley; and brother-in-law, Jerry Mackey.

She is survived by Vern Arnold Jackson, Jr. of the home; son, Joseph Jackson; son, Jeffrey Jackson (Cindy); daughter-in-law, Doreena Jackson; sisters, Susan Mackey and Billie Olson (Den); grandchildren, Amber Jackson, Logan Atkins (Brandy), Amanda Jackson (Samuel), Lucas Atkins, Peyton Atkins, Megan Rex, Nathaniel Jackson, Kristin Jackson, Caleb Jackson, and Hannah Jackson; great-granddaughter, Destiny; along with many nieces and nephews, and many “adopted grandkids” they both loved and cared for as their own.
