Dorothy Shatto

Dorothy Shatto passed away October 18, 2026, at the age of 81. Dorothy was born at home on December 24, 1944, in Bucklin, Mo., the daughter of Everett Edgar Dowell and Sylvia Lorraine (Molloy) Dowell. Dorothy was of Christian faith and now with our Lord and Savior, in the knowledge that her earthly family has each other and will be okay.

Dorothy married Bill Shatto on June 3, 1962, they lived in Independence, Mo., before making Orrick their home in 1975.  She worked for a brief time before becoming a stay at home mom for her two children, Tim and Tamara.

She loved her family, especially when everyone got together for family dinners and dominoes.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Herman Dowel; and a great-granddaughter, Samantha Shatto.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bill; son, Tim Shatto of Bastrop, Texas; daughter, Tamara and husband Scott Elliott of Lawson, Mo.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond and Kathy Dowell; sister, Marilyn and Larry Sage.

Her love and laughter will be remembered and dearly missed.
