Edgar “Ed” Alvin Haney, 83, of Polo, Missouri, passed on January 4, 2022.<\/p>\nEdgar “Ed” Alvin Haney, 83, of Polo, Missouri, passed on January 4, 2022.<\/p>\n
Ed was born on January 1, 1939 in Trenton, Missouri, to Clifford and Flavia (Arbuckle) Haney. He married Freda Pitts in 1957 and they had two children, Eddie and Vickie.<\/p>\n
Ed, also called “Too-Tall,” grew up and worked in the Kansas City area as a glazier. He owned H & H Glass Company in Excelsior Springs for 30 years, remembered as a family glass business where both his children worked and his grandchildren would regularly visit.<\/p>\n
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Freda; sister, Marsha; daughter, Vickie; son-in-law, Dan; grandson, Joseph; granddaughter, Samantha, and her husband, Tim; and two great-grandchildren, Hazel and Briar.<\/p>\n
A funeral will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Bross and Spidle Funeral Home, 217 W. Broadway, Excelsior\u00a0Springs, MO,\u00a064024. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. and the service will begin at 11 a.m. Casual dress is encouraged.<\/p>\n

With heartfelt and sincere prayers for you Freda, Vickie, and the Haney family. An incredible person and friend, is ‘back in the saddle again’. Ed, I want to thank you … for, so many things. But I especially want to thank you for honoring me, the exact same way I honored you. I shall treasure our many years of fighting, laughing, sharing stories about our most private life, and building a large portion of KCMO\/Ks. I bow to you my friend, for sharing in a way that sharpened my ability as a Glazier, and always willing to show something new. We were an odd team, but there is no ‘O’ in team. I have fond memories of Ed and the entire Haney family as I was growing up.
\nSpent several summers as a kid running a concession stand with Eddie Ray and many weekends at the Haney farm along with my dad and my brothers. All great memories.
\nEd was one of my dad\u2019s best friends for over 50 years. A long friendship that stood the test of time.
\nRest In Peace Ed.
