Janet L. Lawrence, beloved mother and dearest \u201cMimi\u201d passed away peacefully with family at her side on Saturday, September 3, 2022.<\/p>\nJanet L. Lawrence, beloved mother and dearest \u201cMimi\u201d passed away peacefully with family at her side on Saturday, September 3, 2022.<\/p>\n
Just recently turning 60 years old, born on August 25, 1962; born and raised in Clay County; graduating Class of 1981 from Liberty High School.<\/p>\n
She married her husband of 13 years, Russell Lawrence, who she met while residing in Macks Creek, before moving to Kearney. Together they built a life that circled around spending time with their grandchildren and loving the Sundays that consisted of watching a Chiefs game. Janet loved spending time with family and to her, everyone was family.<\/p>\n
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Irvin and June Wilson; her aunt, Lena Staley; and her two grandsons, Isaiah and Christian Brown.<\/p>\n
Janet is survived by her two brothers and two sisters; Janet\u2019s husband, Russell Lawrence in Kearney; her four children, JoLynn Wilson, (Daniel), Jessica Miller, Justin Stevenson, and Robert Stevenson, (Gabrielle); eight grandkids, Brooklynn, Leland, Noah, Gracie, Brantley, Cooper, Tristan, and Clayton; niece, Christina Zink; two great nieces, Cassie and Stephanie; and great nephew, Chris King (Elizabeth).<\/p>\n
Visitations will be held 12 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Bross & Spindle Chapels, located at 208 South Jefferson St., Kearney, MO. Family is hosting a lunch after from 3 to 5 p.m. at Tryst Falls Park for ones that would like to reminisce with her family and friends. Address: MO 25601 MO 92, Excelsior Springs.<\/p>\n
Janet loved her children, her grandchildren and she wasn\u2019t just OUR Mimi, she was a Mimi to all that knew her. Her personality could light up a room and will be greatly missed.<\/p>\n

Farewell my dear friend. Your presence will be greatly missed. Thank you for the memories we\u2019ll forever have. You are now at peace without pain and struggles. We will see you again one day and the reunion will be awesome! You touched so many lives and hearts. Farewell my friend until we meet again. I love you .
