Judith I. Pope, 82, of Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away, Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022 at her home surrounded by family.<\/p>\nJudith I. Pope, 82, of Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away, Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022 at her home surrounded by family.<\/p>\n
Ms. Pope was born July 14, 1940 in Ottawa, KS, to George and Florence Pope.<\/p>\n
She was survived by her son, Jerry Kline (Shar); daughter, Susan Bond (Kevin); grandchildren, Carrie Hammond (Jeff), Stuart Kline, and Lucian Bond; and great grandchildren, Jaylin Sayers and Connor Bond. Judy and her family were blessed to have an additional daughter\/sister, Mary Estes, who is a longtime friend and caregiver to Judy.<\/p>\n
Judy taught school in Excelsior Springs school district for thirty plus years, was a cheerleading sponsor and was a coach for the ESHS dance team (Tigerettes), which she lovingly referred to as “her girls”. She retired from the school district in 1998 and upon retirement continued working in retail at Stage\/Goody’s in Excelsior Springs for 17 years.<\/p>\n
A memorial, Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church of Excelsior Springs, in Excelsior Springs, MO.<\/p>\n
In lieu of flowers, Judy requested donations be made to 1st United Methodist Church for the planting of trees,1st United Methodist Church Pre-school or the ESHS Dance Team program.<\/p>\n

It was an honor to know you. I send my love to her family and friends. I’m glad I got to see her one last time. Thoughts and prayers are with Jerry and the family during this difficult time. I’m so very sorry for your loss. I enjoyed visiting with your Mom. I saw her often at Stage and ran into a few times at Macy’s.\u00a0 Such a sweet lady. My condolences and prayers for comfort and peace during the difficult time. Omg!! I can\u2019t believe she is gone. She was my favorite teacher. I could get away with murder with her. lol I’m going to miss her. Our deepest condolences to your family. My husband and I loved seeing Judy at the gym in the mornings when we owned it.
