She was born on February 19, 1941, in Stover, Missouri. She did not realize then, that she would return to the lake to enjoy her wonderful lake life with her loving husband, Karl Shelor, for sixty-five years. Mary was the mother of seven children, Terry (Frank) Tate, Carla (Bryan) Young, Gail Hawkins, Shelly Shelor, John (Amy) Shelor, Jeff (Chris) Shelor and Jennifer (Mike) Snelling.

Mary’s devoted husband, Karl Shelor, preceded her in death, as well as her three beautiful daughters, Carla Young, Gail Hawkins, and Shelly Shelor, and loving grandson, Jonathan Wilson. Mary was also preceded in death by her mother, Mae Talley; father, Samuel Still; sisters, Hope Clevenger, Viola Clevenger, Virginia Johnson, Marge Harris, and Lottie DePriest; and brothers, Charles Still and JD Still. In addition, she also lost so many in-laws and friends.

Mary lived in Kansas City, California, Lake of the Ozarks and Ozark, Missouri. She had been a member of the Baptist church in Excelsior Springs and attended the Christian church in Ozark, Missouri.

Despite the size of Mary’s large family, she always made time to support everyone with love and plenty of food. Some of her specials were fried catfish, biscuits and gravy and holiday cookies and treats. Mary was happy to be the central figure in her children’s life and she was a star in her grandchildren’s eyes. That was all that mattered to her beside being crowned champion of any game. Mary enjoyed her cards, bowling, Bingo and Wii sports. Mary loved music and dancing with her husband. She cherished all her family and friends. Mary will be sadly missed, forever loved.

Funeral service will be held at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, on Tuesday, November 29 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow funeral at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Our Sincere Condolences

To all of Aunt Mary’s family, Nancy and I send or condolences in the loss of you’re mother and grandmother.
