He was a 1969 graduate of Polo High School. Earl will be remembered for his long, beautiful hair and blue eyes. Earl could often be found sitting on the back porch feeding the squirrels by hand while working on his awesome tan on his legs and feet. He also enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles, Nascar races, Game Show Network, fishing and was a Chiefs fan. He loved Bald eagles and snacking on Topsy\u2019s popcorn.<\/p>\n<p>He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronny Rodgers; niece, Robin Lowe; and great-niece, Addison Lowe.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include step-daughters, Cheyenne and husband Micah Anthony of Lawson, MO, and Rheana Papek of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Andi and husband Nick Simmons of Kansas City, MO., Chandler Anthony of Lawson, MO, Anniston Anthony of Lawson, MO, and Zane Papek of Kansas City, MO; brother, Dale and wife Gail Rodgers; sister, Joyce Rodgers and her companion, Cheryl Blanscet; many nieces, nephews and friends.<\/p>\n<p>A celebration of life service will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2023 with visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. at Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home Lawson Chapel, 214 N. Pennsylvania, Lawson, MO.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>I\u2019ve worked and known Earl a long time, never knew a better fella to be around or have for a friend!! My brothers and I all thought and respected Scruggs. Driving across the country and on job sites working, or going to concerts and just hanging out, Earl had a laugh that you can never forget. The time we were at a Ratt concert and I told him about a couple grass heads in front of us, he laughed so hard telling me he hadn\u2019t heard someone called that in years. The man would give you the shirt off his back, and buy you another one before doing anything for himself. Thanks for the memories Earl, you were a good and loyal friend.<br \/>\nJohn Layne<\/p>\n<p>I have known Earl for 40 + years.
