Melanie Deanne (Adams) Avery, 55, of Lawson, Mo., passed away on February 23, 2024, from a heart attack which resulted in a car accident.<\/p>\n
Melanie was born on November 21, 1968, in Kansas City, Mo., to Franklin and Joyce Adams. She grew up in Excelsior Springs, Mo., and married Mike Malott in 1990 and they had three daughters.<\/p>\n
They later divorced and in 2015 she married Geno Avery, who preceded her in death in 2020.<\/p>\n
Melanie was a Christian and was baptized in the Baptist church. She was very outgoing and never met a stranger. She remembered everyone’s names no matter how long it had been since she had seen them.<\/p>\n
Melanie loved being a grandmother. She was looking forward to the birth of her third grandchild in July and to the marriage of her youngest daughter in May.<\/p>\n
Melanie will be greatly missed by her children, Monica (Austin) Gardner, Morgan (Nick) Clevenger, and Molly Malott (Chris Jenkins); her grandchildren, Hayden Marie Clevenger and Bennett Mason Gardner; her brother, Michael Adams; her parents, Frank and Joyce Adams; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.<\/p>\n
Services will be held at the Barbee Memorial Presbyterian Church in Excelsior Springs, Mo., at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024.<\/p>\n
In lieu of flowers or contributions, just come and join us in a celebration of Melanie’s life. You could write us a note about how you got to know her, something for us to treasure. Take the time and hug your loved ones and let them know you love them. They are your gift from God.<\/p>\n

I am so sorry to hear about Melanie\u2019s passing. We were close friends in the 90s. Her daughter Monica was my flower girl in my wedding in 94. We lost touch in recent years. I followed her on Facebook.

So sorry to hear about Melanie, we were really close to each other once we met at our delivery jobs. Wish I knew earlier I would have been at the celebration of life. We helped each other get through alot of challenges in our lives. I always prayed she was safe after we lost track of each other. She will truly be missed by many.
