Phillip Douglas Robertson, 67, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away May 27, 2024 at his home, from Pancreatic Cancer.<\/p>\n
Mr. Robertson was born on February 27, 1957 in Clarksville, Ark.<\/p>\n
Phillip and Linda were long time residents of Independence, Mo., having recently relocated to Excelsior Springs, Mo. Phillip is a veteran having served a combined service of 22 years in the Army and National Guard. He retired with more than 20 years of service with the City of Independence, where he worked for the water department as an equipment operator. He was a member of the VFW in McAllen, Texas, where Phil, Linda and Crystal spent several winters after his retirement.\u00a0 Phillip was a Mason and member of Eastgate Masonic Lodge #630. Phillip also spent many years working as a mechanic and seldomly found something that he could not repair. Phillip enjoyed camping, swimming, boating and fishing.\u00a0 He was a marksman, skydiver, scuba diver, and avid motorcyclist\/Harley Davidson lover. He loved some old time rock and roll and has been known to “cut a rug” on the dance floor.<\/p>\n
Phillip was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Robertson; paternal grandparents, Seth (Nettie) Robertson and Wilma Traner; maternal grandparents, Charley (Eula) Becker; and one grandson, Dillon.<\/p>\n
Phillip is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Coin Robertson, and daughter, Crystal Robertson, of the home.\u00a0 He is also survived by his daughter, Angela (David) Baker, son, Seth (Jenni) Robertson, and daughter, Heather Robertson. Phillip, better know as Papa, is also survived by his grandchildren, Alison, Blaine, Micaya, Zander, Kadance, Danika, Alayna, Chase, and Dawson. Philip is survived by his father, Frankie Robertson; step father, Bennie Epperson; brother, Robie Robertson; sisters, Rebel (Tom) White, and Kimberly Epperson; many nieces, nephews, and countless family and great friends.<\/p>\n
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, Mo.\u00a0 Graveside services to follow funeral procession at Crown Hill Cemetery in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.<\/p>\n
