Fran and Chuck grew up on the same city block in Toledo, and were the love of each other’s lives.

Though Fran worked as both a real estate agent and a cosmetologist after her children were mostly grown, she considered her family her most important work. Fran thrived on caring for her children, always embracing their friends and spouses . . . and literally anyone else who needed a mother’s hug or the helping hand of a friend.

Fran is survived by her husband; son, Chris and his wife, Suzanne; daughter, Cathy and her partner, Art; son Craig; daughter-in-law, Julie Hensley; son, Curtis and his wife, Dee; daughter, Colleen; and daughter, Tina Kirkpatrick. Fran had eight grandchildren, Cherryh, Christen, Trisha, Cole, Jeremy, Courtney, Cameron and Christian, and eight great-grandchildren, Eliott, Gabe, James, Julian, Lincoln, Lila, Noah and Corbin. Surviving sisters are Ellie Stevenson and Margie Tiell.

Fran was preceded in death by her son, Cary, daughter-in-law, Veronica and grandson, Michael.

Fran loved cheering for the Chiefs and Royals, watching movies, bargain shopping and playing the lottery and the slots, but what she loved most was her family.

The degree to which Fran’s life touched others is best summed up by a line of dialogue in one of her favorite movies, the “Wizard of Oz”: “A heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.”

A visitation will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018, with a cremation service following at 11 a.m., at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 208 S.
