McKown, born May 14, 1953, entered into eternal peace on January 7, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>John was preceded in death by his father, Allen Francis McKown of Liberty.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by his mother, Shirley Walling (Jack), Liberty; sons, Russell McKown (Stephanie), Independence, and Bradley McKown, Liberty; daughter, Audra McKown, Independence; sisters, Cindy Brenner, Lee&#8217;s Summit, and Robyn Vaughn, Platte City; brother, Rodney McKown, Cameron; three grandsons, Trey and Cash McKown, and William &#8220;Camren&#8221; Martin, and one granddaughter, Sadie Martin, all of Independence.<\/p>\n<p>Liberty was John&#8217;s lifetime home. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1971. John was affiliated with The First Pentecostal Church of Kearney, Mo., and was a licensed member of the National Electrical Contractors Association and also Teamster&#8217;s Union Local 41. John was a devoted father and grandfather, and loyal friend.<\/p>\n<p>Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on January 19, 2018 at Turning Point Church, 9529 SW Hwy. 69, Cameron, MO 64429, followed by a Celebration of Life service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Graveside service is Saturday, January 20, 2018, 10 a.m., at New Hope Cemetery, 101 E.
