He graduated from Penny High School in Hamilton, MO, in 1958.\u00a0 He lived in Wood Heights, MO.<\/p>\n<p>He managed the Mattingly\u2019s store in Excelsior Springs in his early career and later worked at Ag Foods until retiring.<\/p>\n<p>Jerry will be remembered for his love of music, especially the blues.\u00a0 He enjoyed going to concerts with family members and longtime friends.\u00a0 He spent countless hours playing his large collection of cd\u2019s and albums.\u00a0 Jerry also loved drag racing, he shared that love with his kids and grandsons, taking them whenever he could.\u00a0 Jerry also loved teaching the art of baseball; he was a pitcher and tried out for the KC A\u2019s. He was always young at heart.<\/p>\n<p>Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Glenn; mother, Lillie; and grandson, Christopher McClaskey.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by his children, Lisa M. Stock, Jess L. Rogers, Christina M. and husband David McClaskey, and Elaina M. Rogers; his grandchildren, Cassandra Wilson, Aaron and wife Allison Stock, Jess and wife Stephanie McClaskey, Samantha and husband Dustin Meader, and Meg Rogers; great grandchildren, Jared, Aidian, Dalton, Anna, Savannah, Parker and Izabel. He is also survived by his ex-wife and mother of his four children, Ginny Guymond; and ex-wife, Carol Clock.<\/p>\n<p>Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home, with service at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018, also at the funeral home, and burial at Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, MO.<\/p>\n<p>The family would like to thank Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center for the compassion and care he received for the past two years.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>So sorry for your loss.
