\"\"Jane Metcalf went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.\u00a0 A beautiful Christian woman, Jane Metcalf raised a family of five childen: one boy and four girls.\u00a0 She worked to support the family and did her best to give them the lesson of being in church services come Sunday morning. Jane didn\u2019t often have a lot of help and remained strong overcoming many obstacles in her life.\u00a0 In her hometown, Jane was famous for the delicious pies that she baked at Clem\u2019s Caf\u00e9 for many years. \u00a0Jane also had been a familiar face volunteering at the Kearney Senior Center. Her children recently honored her with a 90th<\/sup> birthday open house.<\/p>\n

Jane was born November 26, 1927 to Clifford and Lena May Gray.<\/p>\n

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Lena May Gray; brother, Joe Gray; infant son, Terry Metcalf; and grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Paul and Sariah Lindstrom.<\/p>\n

Surviving her are her children, Paul and Peggy Metcalf, Patsy and Tom Lindstrom, Pam and Robert House, Jo Ann McMenomy, Jerry and Brad Link; as well as numerous beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.<\/p>\n

Her legacy of hard work, Christian faith, and community spirit should remain an example and encouragement to all. Jane will be missed by many.<\/p>\n

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, with service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Muddy Fork Cemetery, Holt, Mo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kearney Senior Center.<\/p>\n

So sorry for the loss of your mom and grandmother. I always enjoyed visiting with her. She is having such a great time visiting with all who went before her. May God wrap his arms around you all and give you strength.

Jane was a member of the same congregation as I was for roughly 15 years.\u00a0 Always made the best pies for our church dinners and you had to be fast in order to get a piece of pie.\u00a0 If I didn’t get any or not enough pie, then to Clem’s Cafe I would go.\u00a0 Jane’s presence and positive attitude were always a blessing to the congregation.
