{"id":1939,"date":"2018-03-02T18:04:00","date_gmt":"2018-03-02T18:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/?p=1939"},"modified":"2018-10-12T22:29:37","modified_gmt":"2018-10-12T22:29:37","slug":"earnest-o-buck-freeman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/index.php\/2018\/03\/02\/earnest-o-buck-freeman\/","title":{"rendered":"Earnest O. &#8220;Buck&#8221; Freeman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1941 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/earnest_freeman.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"334\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/earnest_freeman.jpg 250w, https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/earnest_freeman-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>Earnest O. &#8220;Buck&#8221; Freeman, 83, of Kearney, Mo., passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at North Care Hospice House, North Kansas City Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Buck was born to T.H. and Ellen Porter Freeman, December 11, 1924 in Walker, Mo., who preceded him in death along with his brother, Walter Lee, all of Walker, Mo.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Yvonne; son, Raymond and wife, Roberta, their son, Raymond Jr. and his son, Rayden; son, Terry and wife, Debbie, their daughter, Ashley and husband, Nathan Carroll, their daughters, Bailey and Madison, and son, Case; also Terry and Debbie\u2019s sons, Brandon, David, and Joseph; Buck\u2019s daughter, Anita Freeman; as well as many nieces and nephews.\u00a0 Family was of the utmost importance to Buck.<\/p>\n<p>Buck was a World War II Army Veteran in the 42<sup>nd<\/sup> Rainbow Division and served in France and Germany, including the Battle of the Bulge.\u00a0 He was employed by the Colgate Co. for 40 years and held several positions before retiring as Distribution Supervisor.<\/p>\n<p>He resided in Smithville for 40 years and lived in Kearney for the last seven years.<\/p>\n<p>Buck enjoyed fishing, KU basketball and family gatherings. He had a love of animals and when he returned home from the Army, he used his entire mustering-out pay to ship home a German Shepherd, Pal, that had traveled with him during his service.<\/p>\n<p>His later years were spent building beautiful doll houses, many of which went to charitable causes.\u00a0 He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and he will be greatly missed.<\/p>\n<p>Family services were held March 8, 2018 at Fry-Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home in Kearney, Mo.
