Mary Elizabeth \u201cBess\u201d Murphy, 100, of Kearney, Missouri, previously a long-time resident of South Sioux City, Nebraska, was born June 25, 1924,
\nin Omaha, Nebraska to Herbert and Vera Forbes and passed away February 13, 2025.<\/p>\n

She married John Robert \u201cBob\u201d Murphy in 1947. They had met when Bess worked as secretary to Bob\u2019s boss at Graybar Electric in Omaha. Together
\nthey had two sons, Kim and Brian.<\/p>\n

Bess was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and is survived by their two sons, Kim (Gerrie) Murphy of Kearney, Missouri, and Brian (Janet) Murphy of Glendale, California; three wonderful grandchildren whom she adored, Sarah (Heath) Owen of Kearney, John (Katie) Murphy of rural
\nWheatland, Missouri, and MaryKate (Ian) Demers of Kearney; and seven amazing great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n

The family wishes to thank the staffs at Oak Pointe of Kearney Memory Care and Crossroads Hospice \/ ACG Hospice for their care, support, and
\nkindness.<\/p>\n

In accordance with her wishes, she has been cremated and there will no public visitation or service. Her ashes will be mixed with her husband\u2019s and
\ninterred at a private family gathering at a later date.<\/p>\n

Arrangements are in care of Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney.<\/p>\n
