07\/02\/1956 – 02\/19\/2025<\/em><\/p>\n

Don Lee Covert was born to Donna Larson Covert and Vernard Covert on July 2, 1956 in Ottawa, Iowa. He lived most of his life in Excelsior Springs, MO.<\/p>\n

On May 3, 1975 he married Mary Teegarden and were to celebrate 50 years together this year.<\/p>\n

They were blessed with one son, Vernard Covert, who became Don\u2019s best friend.<\/p>\n

Most of his work career he was an excellent machinist for Jesse James Machine Shop. After he became disabled, he lived a quiet life with his wife and going to visit his son on his farm.<\/p>\n

He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernard and Donna Covert; and two brothers, Terry and Perry Ray Covert.<\/p>\n

He is survived by his wife, Mary Covert; his son, Vernard Covert; his brothers, Jay Covert, Leland Covert, Richard Covert and their wives; many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Stumpy. Also his wife\u2019s family who loved him just as much.<\/p>\n

He was a very good man and will be greatly missed. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.<\/p>\n
