Allen Lynn Hunt, 73, passed away June 15, 2025, at NorthCare Hospice House.<\/p>\n

He was born August 1, 1951, in Excelsior Springs to Lynn and Rosalie Hunt.<\/p>\n

He was a 1969 graduate of Excelsior Springs High School. He then joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He became a deputy with the Clay County Sheriff’s Department in 1980, retiring after 30 years of service in 2010.<\/p>\n

Allen was preceded in death by his father, Lynn Hunt, and grandparents.<\/p>\n

He is survived by his wife, Susan Hunt; daughter, Mandy Chapman (Cody); granddaughters, Brylie Chapman and Ashlynn Chapman; mother, Rosalie Hunt; brother, Robert (Chris) Hunt; and four legged companions, Tony and Molly.<\/p>\n

Allen’s services will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025, with a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. and a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Flack Memorial Christian Church in Excelsior Springs.<\/p>\n

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.<\/p>\n

Arrangements are in care of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.<\/p>\n
