Kevin Donald Fry, 59, of Excelsior Springs, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026 at Liberty Hospital.<\/p>\n
Kevin was born the son of George and Joann Fry of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, January 20,1966. He married Christine Reistroffer on October 22, 1988. Kevin finished High School and got a certificate in HVAC from the Career Center. He got hired at Job Corbs in 1987 where he worked on the ground maintenance team. Then in 1992 Kevin started working for Home Builders Institute as an instructor and got his teachers degree. He then later became a Coordinator and helped train teachers at different centers. Kevin through the 34 years with HBI, he taught disadvantaged youth to become self-sufficient and a pillar to society. He also worked with the Excelsior Springs Holiday Decoration Committees to set up Christmas every year. He also participated in the Excelsior Springs Water Fest as a Clown that entertained children with balloon animals and his fun personality brought joy to others.<\/p>\n
Kevin loved remote control airplanes and boats. In his spare time Kevin would build models with his sons, he enjoyed the outdoors and was a barbecue master. Kevin even as a kid loved to tinker with anything that was broken and needed repair, or he was curious how things worked. Kevin loved to go ice fishing with his best friends and went on many motorcycle trips with his wife and or buddies as possible. Kevin loved making people laugh and feel important.<\/p>\n
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, George Fry.<\/p>\n
He is survived by his wife, Christine Fry and four sons, Benjamin, Zachary, Alexander, Andrew, and daughter, Graci; his mother, JoAnn; sister, Bobbie (Jim); and his brother, Brian, (Michele). Kevin also has a mother-in-law, a father-in-law, five nieces, five nephews, three sister-in-laws and one brother-in-law. Kevin loved life and cherished his wife, children, family and friends.<\/p>\n
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at First United Methodist Church, 1650 Rainbow Blvd., Excelsior Springs, MO 64024. The Celebration of Life will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Montgomery Event Center, 425 S. Thompson Ave., Excelsior Springs, MO 64024. Please RSVP by May 1st, for the dinner at the Celebration of Life and no alcohol allowed at the event center. After the Celebration of Life, come to Siloam Mountain Park ,607 Ellsworth St., Excelsior Springs, MO 64024. We will be having a toast to Kevin, meeting at the gazebo from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
