Austin W. Swope, 86, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, passed away May 18, 2026, peacefully at his home.<\/p>\n

Austin was born on February 3, 1940, to Charley Swope and Bitha (Clevenger) Swope.<\/p>\n

Austin enjoyed working on cars and playing with his grandchildren. Austin enjoyed working with his hands and remodeling his house several times, and he retired from Adam\u2019s Storage on Front Street in Kansas City, Missouri.<\/p>\n

He is preceded in death by both parents, Charley and Bitha; sisters, Evanell, Adeana, Annabell, and Maudie; brothers, Ivan, Lee, Jim, and Farrell; and two sons, Terry Swope and Eward Swope.<\/p>\n

He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Holder, and son, Wesley Swope; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.<\/p>\n

Graveside service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Old New Garden Cemetery Route O, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024.<\/p>\n

Arrangements are in care of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, MO.<\/p>\n
