JoAnn was one of those rare people. She lived a life defined by faith, humility, compassion, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Family was the center of JoAnn’s world. She found her greatest happiness in simply being with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those she considered family. Whether gathered around a holiday table, celebrating life’s milestones, or sharing everyday moments, JoAnn’s greatest gift was making those around her feel loved, welcomed, and cared for. Her precious dogs were also a cherished part of her family and brought her immeasurable joy and companionship.

A devoted Catholic, JoAnn’s faith was not only something she believed — it was something she lived. She reflected God’s love through countless acts of kindness, generosity, and quiet service. She never sought recognition for the good she did. Instead, she found fulfillment in helping others, offering encouragement, and being a source of comfort during difficult times. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and compassionate heart were gifts she freely shared with everyone she met.

Though naturally quiet and humble, JoAnn possessed remarkable strength. She was the steady presence her family could always count on — the one who listened without judgment, loved without conditions, and gave without expecting anything in return. Her grace, patience, and steadfast love created a legacy that will continue to inspire her family for generations.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Agatha Crede; her beloved husband, Larry Lockamy; her cherished daughter, Kelly Evola; and her son, Jeff Lockamy.

She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: her children, John Greathouse (Wendy), Sheila Eby, Phil Greathouse (Tricia), Tom Greathouse (Marsha), daughter-in-law Joanna Lockamy, and Jason Lockamy (Lisa). She is also lovingly remembered by her many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives were enriched by her unconditional love, as well as her beloved dogs, who were never far from her side.

While her family grieves the loss of her earthly presence, they find comfort knowing she has been welcomed into the loving arms of her Savior and reunited with those who went before her. The love she gave so freely, the faith she lived so faithfully, and the countless lives she quietly touched will remain her enduring legacy.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Lawson, Missouri.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Excelsior Springs, Missouri.

Pallbearers: Jeremy Greathouse, Grant Crowley, Jordan Crowley, Dyllian Crowley, Derek Greathouse, and Matthew Greathouse.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor JoAnn’s memory by extending kindness to someone in need or by supporting a local animal rescue organization or St. Ann’s Catholic Church. There is no greater tribute to JoAnn than to share the compassion, generosity, and unconditional love that she so beautifully gave throughout her life.

Arrangements are in care of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home Lawson Chapel.

Our Sincere Condolences

Our dear cousin, JoAnn was a wonderful lady.
