A man of immense honor and integrity, Gary bravely served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.\u00a0 He carried that same sense of dedication into his civilian life, earning a reputation as the kindest, most honest person you could ever meet. Gary\u2019s heart knew no bounds; he was a father figure to all and was always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.<\/p>\n<p>For 39 beautiful years Gary was married to the love of his life, Shirley. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, devotion, and a shared love for music and dancing. When he wasn\u2019t in the living room dancing with Shirley, Gary could be found on the river fishing. He was given the nickname \u201cCatfish\u201d for his uncanny ability to always reel in the \u201cbig ones\u201d!\u00a0 Above all else, Gary fiercely loved his family.\u00a0 He was their steady anchor, their constant support, and their Hero! His legacy of unconditional love, grace and selflessness will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, he always looked out for.<\/p>\n<p>Gary is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Louise Rogers;\u00a0\u00a0parents, Clifford and Judy Rogers; sister, Sharon Blaceter; and grandson, Jonathan Tyler Beck.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by three children, Kevin L. Rogers, Aaron J. Rogers and Shannon L. Turner; eight grandchildren, Carlie N. Turner, Kyle J. Turner, Nicholas V. Beck, Clayton T. Beck, Kadance R. Beck, Hunter Riley, Amber Riley and Dillion Rogers; six great-grandchildren, Santana Garcia, Russel Riley, Noah Riley, Ivan Riley, Blayton Riley, and Axton Miller; brothers, John (Patricia) Rogers, Jim (Sandy) Rogers; Guy Blaceter; along with numerous brother- and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.<\/p>\n<p>Graveside services will full military honors will be held 12 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2026 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.<\/p>\n<p>Arrangements are in care of Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.<\/p>\n<div class=\"pdfprnt-buttons pdfprnt-buttons-post pdfprnt-bottom-right\"><a href=\"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/22412?print=print\" class=\"pdfprnt-button pdfprnt-button-print\" target=\"_blank\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/pdf-print\/images\/print.png\" alt=\"image_print\" title=\"Print Content\" \/><\/a><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gary Joe Rogers, 79, Camden, MO, passed away July 8, 2026 at Liberty Hospital.
