{"id":2243,"date":"2018-05-02T22:43:53","date_gmt":"2018-05-02T22:43:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/?p=2243"},"modified":"2018-10-12T22:12:28","modified_gmt":"2018-10-12T22:12:28","slug":"jack-orava","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/index.php\/2018\/05\/02\/jack-orava\/","title":{"rendered":"Jack Orava"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2246 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/jack_orava.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"260\" height=\"438\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/jack_orava.jpg 260w, https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/jack_orava-178x300.jpg 178w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 260px) 100vw, 260px\" \/>Jack Orava, 79, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in the comfort of his home surrounded by family.\u00a0 Jack was born June 21, 1938 in Trenary, Mich., to Nestor and Anna Orava.\u00a0 He left the small town of Trenary after graduating high school in 1956 to serve his country by joining the United States Navy where he was stationed in Olathe, Kans., until 1959.<\/p>\n<p>On January 15, 1960 he married Judith Mae Wollard and settled in Excelsior Springs, Mo., where they raised four daughters \u2013 Susan, Cari, Jill, and Joy.\u00a0 Jack owned and operated the Y-Standard for 21 years and after retiring he transported cars all over the United States for 18 years, officially retiring in 1991.<\/p>\n<p>Jack was preceded in death by his father, Nestor Orava, mother, Anna Orava-Tinney and brother-in-law, Garland Ranes.<\/p>\n<p>Those left behind to continue Jack\u2019s legacy and share his stories are sister, Sandra Ranes; wife, Judy Orava; four daughters, Susan Rogers, Cari Pulse, Jill Kryger (Kyle), and Joy Fines (John); seven grandchildren, Heather Bautista (Julio), Leina Rogers (Derek), Lauren Sowash (Thompson), Austin Pulse, Cory Kryger, Addison Kryger and Sam Kryger; and three great grandchildren, Rion Gallagher, Isabelle Bautista and Christian Bautista.<\/p>\n<p>A few words from a poem Jack left us with\u2026.<\/p>\n<p><em>The good Lord let me be here for a good long while<br \/>\nI told a few stories and I hope I brought a smile!<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>To my family and friends, thank you for caring<br \/>\nAnd celebrate my life with some \u2018Jack\u2019 stories you may be sharing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Try not to be sad, no more will I roam<br \/>\nMy time here is done, it\u2019s time to go Home!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Donations can be made to Orrick Christian Church in memory of Jack Orava.<\/p>\n<p>Orrick Christian Church<br \/>\n401 E.
