{"id":2539,"date":"2018-07-07T22:19:47","date_gmt":"2018-07-07T22:19:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/?p=2539"},"modified":"2018-10-12T22:01:47","modified_gmt":"2018-10-12T22:01:47","slug":"ruth-eleanor-cave","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/index.php\/2018\/07\/07\/ruth-eleanor-cave\/","title":{"rendered":"Ruth Eleanor Cave"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2566 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/ruth_cave.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"268\" \/>Ruth Eleanor Cave, 97, of Kearney, Mo., died peacefully on July 7, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Ruth was born March 26, 1921 to John T. and Julia Ann (Thomas) Massey in Gower, Mo.\u00a0 She married Darrell L. Cave on October 4, 1940 and they were married over 73 years, until Darrell\u2019s death in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Ruth held various jobs, retiring from the Social Security Administration after more than 20 years of service.\u00a0 She loved sewing and making beautiful quilts, working in her flowers, and playing bridge.\u00a0 She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kearney, Northland Quilt Guild, Kearney Green Thumb Club, and several bridge clubs.<\/p>\n<p>Ruth was preceded in death by, not only her parents and Darrell, but also her three sisters, Thelma Kinder, Irene Massey, and Elsie Ackerman.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Don Duncan of Kearney; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, David and Carrie Duncan; and great grandchildren, Benjamin, Catherine and William Duncan, all of Liberty.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Kearney with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.\u00a0 Burial will follow service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kearney.\u00a0 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Preferred Hospice, 601 S. 13 Highway, Lexington, MO 64067.<\/p>\n<p>Arrangements in care of Fry-Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>I\u2019m so sorry for your loss. Ruth\u00a0 went to the same church as my mom and dad Joyce and JD Waters and I loved her so much. She was so special. I am so sorry to hear she is gone from this world.
