Harley grew up in Ohio and Illinois during childhood. He honorably served 6 years in the Army, including two tours in Vietnam. He lived in Kansas for many years before finally settling in Kearney, where he has lived for 20+ years. He was a painter by trade and passed away while working.<\/p>\n<p>Harley is survived by his son, Tanner Marion of Kearney Mo., who resided with him at the time of his death; his son, Jon Marion of Chicago, Ill.; as well as three grandchildren; four half siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>Harley loved his family and friends, golfing, shooting pool, throwing darts, camping, canoeing and annual trips to Winfield Music Festival every September. He was a friend to many and we hope you will come and celebrate his life on July 28 at Fat Boys, one of his favorite hangouts.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a wake to celebrate Harley\u2019s life held at Fat Boys in Kearney on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.woundedwarriorproject.org\" target=\"_blank\">woundedwarriorproject.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Arrangements are in care of Fry-Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney.<\/p>\n<div class=\"pdfprnt-buttons pdfprnt-buttons-post pdfprnt-bottom-right\"><a href=\"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2580?print=print\" class=\"pdfprnt-button pdfprnt-button-print\" target=\"_blank\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/pdf-print\/images\/print.png\" alt=\"image_print\" title=\"Print Content\" \/><\/a><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Harley Mitchell Marion, 71, a resident of Kearney Mo., passed away unexpectedly on July 2, 2018.
