Diccon was born July 1, 1976 to James Rex and Dana Jo (Winn) Dawson on the island of Guam.\u00a0 He attended school at Stuart-Menlo in Stuart, Iowa, where he was noted class clown, and graduated from Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Mo., in 1994. After a brief stint in the Air Force, he attended AMDA (American Musical and Dramatic Academy) in New York.<\/p>\n<p>During his time in New York he was cast in the Obie award-winning play Benten Kozo at the Off-Broadway Flea Theatre.\u00a0 From New York he moved back to Iowa and then Arizona.\u00a0 Diccon\u2019s Sunday \u201csermons\u201d are fondly remembered by patrons of The Alamo Saloon in Fountain Hills, where he was a well-liked bartender.\u00a0 While in Arizona, Diccon was diagnosed with lupus, and autoimmune disease which attacked his kidneys and heart.\u00a0 He later moved to Kearney, Mo., to be near family.\u00a0 Diccon was very fortunate to receive a donor kidney in 2009, which served him well for two years.\u00a0 Following the failure of his donor kidney, Diccon moved briefly to Atlanta, Ga., and then to Louisville, Ky. Diccon made many, many friends everywhere he went.\u00a0 He had the girt of intelligence, humor, and a lightning-fast wit.\u00a0 It was impossible to stay mad at him, which he tested often.\u00a0 He loved his friends, watching sports, and most of all his family.<\/p>\n<p>Diccon is survived by his father, James Rex (Susan) Dawson; his sister, Anne (Clint) Powell and their daughters, Claudia \u201cChuck\u201d and Vivian \u201cWally\u201d; stepbrother, Brent Uitermarkt and his son, Logan; and stepsister, Amy (Brian) Soper and their daughters, Shyanne (Tyler) Cooley, Kallie, and Layla.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by infant brother, Bennett Christian, and mother, Dana Jo.<\/p>\n<p>Celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Kearney First United Methodist Church, 1000 E.
