\"\"Seiko “Mickey” Soutter, 84, of Liberty, Mo., passed from this life into eternal life on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Northcare Hospice House in North Kansas City, Mo.\u00a0 She earned the nickname Mickey, because she loved Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse when first coming to the United States.<\/p>\n

Seiko Susaki was born in Hirado, Japan, the daughter of Isomitsu and Materino Susaki.\u00a0 Her family were very devout Catholics in Hirado, Japan.\u00a0 For a living, Isomitsu worked at finding water for wells using a dowsing\/divining rod.\u00a0 Her father took much pride of owning two cows, one of which Seiko would take for walks.<\/p>\n

Seiko came to the United States in 1956, the bride of a navy seaman, Jack R. Soutter, along with their baby girl.\u00a0 She spoke no English when coming to America.\u00a0 Once settled in Excelsior Springs, Mo., she worked at a sewing factory, and did seamstress work on the side.\u00a0 She then went to work at Whitaker Cables, forming cables until retirement.\u00a0 In 1974, Seiko was very proud to become a naturalized citizen.\u00a0 After the death of her husband, she came to Liberty, Mo., to live with her daughter.<\/p>\n

Seiko is survived by her daughter, Kathy Soutter, Liberty, Mo.; her son, Jack Soutter and daughter-in-law, Rhonda Soutter, also of Liberty; her pride and joy twin grandsons, Kevin and Joey Soutter, both graduates of Kearney High School;\u00a0 two sister-in-laws, Betty Mills of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Shirley Crabtree of Liberty, Mo.\u00a0 Also included are many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n

Visitation starts at 10 a.m., followed by memorial service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Flack Memorial Christian Church, 1300 Tracy Avenue, Excelsior Springs, Mo.\u00a0Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Excelsior Springs.<\/p>\n

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the APDA – American Parkinson Disease Association<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Arrangements are in care of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.<\/p>\n

Jeff and I always enjoyed Mickey when visiting Jack and Rhonda and their family for pool events and music making. She always made us feel welcome with her appreciation of the music and friendships. She was a lovely women and we send our heartfelt sympathies to her family and friends.
