{"id":3335,"date":"2018-10-22T19:41:33","date_gmt":"2018-10-22T19:41:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/?p=3335"},"modified":"2018-10-29T20:04:37","modified_gmt":"2018-10-29T20:04:37","slug":"doris-kay-baird","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/index.php\/2018\/10\/22\/doris-kay-baird\/","title":{"rendered":"Doris Kay Baird"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3337 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/doris_baird.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"280\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/doris_baird.jpg 280w, https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/doris_baird-203x300.jpg 203w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 280px) 100vw, 280px\" \/>Doris Kay Baird, 80, Lawson, Mo., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 20, 2018.\u00a0 Doris Kay was born on September 27, 1938, in Ray County, Mo., the daughter of Emil Nolker and Elsie (Hankins) Nolker.<\/p>\n<p>She was united in marriage to Jesse DeWayne Baird on December 22, 1957.\u00a0 Doris graduated from Lawson High School in 1957.\u00a0 She has the distinction of being the first woman elected to the Lawson School Board.\u00a0 She retired from Tredegar in Excelsior Springs, Mo.\u00a0 Doris Kay was an active member of Old Union Church, Lawson, Mo.\u00a0 She was a long-time Sunday school teacher and Bible study leader, her faith in Jesus influenced and impacted many lives.\u00a0 She will be remembered by her family and friends for her generous hospitality and the joy she found sharing her faith in Jesus.\u00a0 One of her greatest joys was raising her five boys.<\/p>\n<p>She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Kyla Baird.<\/p>\n<p>She leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Jesse Baird; two brothers, Donald Nolker (Dorothy) of Polo, Mo., and Kevin Nolker (Debbie) of Warrensburg, Mo.; five sons, Kent Baird (Rhonda) of Excelsior Springs, Mo., Brent Baird (Diana) of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Jeff Baird (Heather) of Rogersville, Mo., Tim Baird (Sheila) of Lawson, Mo., and Steve Baird (Shelley) of Bowling Green, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; brother-in-law, Donald Baird of Portland, Ore.; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Booth of Palm Springs, Calf.; two nieces and numerous friends.<\/p>\n<p>A memorial visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, November 2, 2018 at Old Union Church, 17990 N. Union Rd, Lawson, MO.\u00a0 Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, November 3, 2018, also at the church, followed by burial at Old Union Cemetery.\u00a0 In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to be sent to New Hope Missions International, 4243 SW McCrory St., Port St. Lucie, FL 34953. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newhopehaiti.com\">www.newhopehaiti.com<\/a> Contributions will be used to help build a church in Haiti.<\/p>\n<p>Arrangements in care of Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home Lawson Chapel.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends.
