McKemy, 90, of Hardin, Mo., died on January 25, 2019 at Valley Manor and Rehabilitation Center in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Alfred was born January 25, 1929 to Frank N. and Elisabeth (Rust) McKemy.<\/p>\n<p>Alfred married Sandra Cooper in 1962.\u00a0 They had two children. After her death, he married Carole Douglas in 1997.<\/p>\n<p>Alfred was a farmer in rural Hardin, Mo., until he married Carole and moved to Kansas City, Mo.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by sister, Margaret Jane McKemy; wife, Sandra (Cooper) McKemy; and wife, Carole (Douglas) McKemy.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by sister, Mary Aslakson (Elroy), of Independence, Mo.; son, William McKemy (Jo Ellen), of Kansas City, Mo.; daughter, Elisabeth Fields (Brian), of Kearney, Mo.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.<\/p>\n<p>A memorial service will be held at Fry-Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney, Mo., on February 8, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>Bill &amp; Elizabeth,<br \/>\nI\u2019m so sorry to hear about your Dad. My condolences to you and your families.<br \/>\nDoug King<\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth and Bill, I\u2019m so very sorry to hear of your loss, although I know it\u2019s comforting to know he is now at peace.\u00a0 So many memories, from what seemed like a whole other life, for us all.\u00a0 Our Dad\u2019s were truly a different breed, who worked hard to provide for their families, when farming was a different endeavor, than it is today.\u00a0 To think of the 4-row planters, cultivators and corn heads along with the combines and tractors, without cabs.\u00a0 They were at one with the soil, daily.\u00a0 May he \u201cRest In Peace!\u201d<br \/>\nTroy Rust<\/p>\n<p>We met your dad through the Seekers Sunday School Class at Plattewoods Methodist Church and know what a great man he was.\u00a0 As it turned out he played piano for my high school English teacher, Miss Wall, when they were growing up on neighboring farms.\u00a0\u00a0 Our prayers and thoughts are with you and all your family.\u00a0\u00a0 Hope time will heal your current sadness with more pleasant memories from the past.<br \/>\nBev &amp; Lenny Poppenhagen<\/p>\n<p>Elisabeth and Bill, your father and mother were two of the first people we met when we landed in Hardin so long ago.
