Doris Lee Logston, 85, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.<\/p>\n

She was born on February 22, 1932 to Ralph and Dorothy (Palmer) Adams in Breckenridge, Mo. She married Jimmy Logston on August 29, 1952.<\/p>\n

Doris retired from the Clay County Collectors Office. Her #1 job was being the best wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Doris was a member of the Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church of Excelsior Springs.<\/p>\n

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Curt Logston, parents and her sister, Margaret McCrary.<\/p>\n

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jim; four children, Jimmy (Patty), Timmy (Cathy), Susan (Tony) Marrali, and Ralph David; seven grandchildren, Chris, Angela (Ken), John, Michelle (Eric), Megan (Jayson), Chad and Amanda; and eight great grandchildren, Cole, Canyon, Josiah, Maylee, Averey, Emalyn, Reyd and Eleanor.<\/p>\n

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Masonic Cemetery, Excelsior Springs. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the First United Methodist Church of Excelsior Springs Prayer Shawl group.<\/p>\n

Arrangements are in care of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.<\/p>\n

I am so saddened to hear of Doris’s passing. We had so much fun with her, Jim, and their kids back when we were young and they came to our house to play Canasta with my parents. She was an extremely sweet and kind lady and will always be remembered in fond memories.

I only recently heard of Doris passing away and I am deeply saddened to hear this and wish to extend my condolences to Jim and the rest of the family.\u00a0 Doris was a schoolmate & a very good friend of mine and also she was a classmate & a dear friend to my wife Shirley all through school at Breckenridge, MO.\u00a0 After we married our families drifted apart but we renewed our friendship most every year at the Breckenridge, MO Alumni Banquet.\u00a0 Doris was greatly missed at the recent Alumni Banquet by her friends and school classmates and all were saddened to hear of her passing as for some this was the first they had heard of our loss.\u00a0 Hang in there Jimbo.
