{"id":5517,"date":"2020-01-26T18:24:53","date_gmt":"2020-01-26T18:24:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/?p=5517"},"modified":"2024-07-27T04:13:21","modified_gmt":"2024-07-27T04:13:21","slug":"james-van-cox","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/index.php\/2020\/01\/26\/james-van-cox\/","title":{"rendered":"James Van Cox"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5519 alignright\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/james_cox.jpg\" alt=\"James Van Cox\" width=\"300\" height=\"344\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/james_cox.jpg 300w, https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/james_cox-262x300.jpg 262w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>James \u201cJimmy\u201d Van Cox, 73, of Ludlow, Mo., passed away January 26, 2020 at his home after losing his battle with cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Cox was born October 13, 1946 in Kansas City, MO.<\/p>\n<p>Jimmy, as he was known to most, retired from Ford Motor Company in 2002 after thirty years of service.\u00a0 He never slowed down; always having a project to work on.\u00a0 Whether it was a garden tractor, a home repair project, or the 14-ft. wooden jon boat he was building by hand &#8212; he was never idle.\u00a0 Jimmy was a faithful member of the Faith Baptist Church, and enjoyed his time spent with his church family as well.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marjorie Cox, and his sister, Judith Hammond.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Martha Cox; a son, Eric (Gina) Cox; and two daughters, Elizabeth (Edward) Sutton and Ellysa (Daniel) Siebert; as well as his 12 grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, January 31, 2020, with service following at Bross and Spidle Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs, burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, MO.<\/p>\n<p>In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Faith Baptist Church, 1011 Fellows Street, Utica, MO 64686.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>Please accept my sincere condolences. He had a great sense of humor and was a lot of fun to be around. He was such a kind gentle man. We all loved seeing and visiting with him. We are all so very sorry for your loss. I so enjoyed seeing his progress on his boat he was building. He was a true friend I will never forget.
