Sheri Lynn (Nagel) Baird, 55, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 19, 2020 at home.<\/p>\nSheri Lynn (Nagel) Baird, 55, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 19, 2020 at home.<\/p>\n
Sheri was born on March 19, 1965, in St. Louis, Mo., to George W. and Wanda S. Nagel.\u00a0 Sheri was a 1983 graduate of Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in Shawnee, Kans.\u00a0 She married Jeffrey Baird on August 26, 1996.\u00a0 Sheri grew up in Lenexa, Kans., and later moved to Excelsior Springs where she was raising her family. She was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Excelsior Springs where she participated in the Altar Guild and the Lutheran Women Missionary League.<\/p>\n
She was preceded in death by her mother.<\/p>\n
Sheri is survived by her husband, Jeffrey, and sons, Zachery and Alexander of the home; father, George Nagel (Anita), Shawnee, Kans.; sister, Stephanie (John) Allen, Shawnee Kans.; and her extended family.<\/p>\n
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2020 with service following at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church of Excelsior Springs, 1215 Baldwin Street, Excelsior Springs, Mo.\u00a0 The family suggests memorial contributions to Calvary Lutheran Church.<\/p>\n

We are very saddened with the passing of our beloved one, Sherri. We will miss her very much, seeing her in church and LWML meetings and going out to lunch. She was a joy to be with. She added a lot to our meetings and also she loved to volunteer a lot. She was our secretary, she always helped trim the Christmas tree at the Hall Of Waters, she enjoy helping\u00a0 all the ladies trim the church Christmas tree. We had a good time laughing and joking around. She also helped with the Sunday School classes. She was always one of the first to volunteer for kitchen duty and serving food for all occasions. She was a good friend to all and was happy to see you weather we saw her on her job or out shopping. She was truly a blessing to all. Doug and I have always thought the world of Sherri, she will be missed.
