He was a truck driver for 40 years and proud teamster. He served as union steward and was an active member. He believed in hard work and that everyone deserves a chance to live the American dream.<\/p>\n<p>He had a curious mind and enjoyed learning and discovering new things.\u00a0 He never met a stranger.\u00a0 He enjoyed fishing, winemaking, traveling, riding motorcycles and collecting antique tractors, which he donated to Lathrop Antique Car, Tractor and Engine Club.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by his wife, Lynda, and daughters, Charlotte and Janette and their husbands.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Verona; brother, Tom; son, Larry; and granddaughter, Hannah.<\/p>\n<p>Due to Covid-19 considerations, a private graveside service is planned.<\/p>\n<p>In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to <a href=\"http:\/\/lathropantique.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lathrop Antique Car, Tractor and Engine Club<\/a>, 2488 S.E. When I think of him I think of our summers in Westphalia and the good memories of those days.\u00a0 He was full of onryness and energy &#8211; I think of his horse, his Corvette and motorcycle.\u00a0 I think he liked to go fast.\u00a0 He was definitely a teamster and always spoke with pride of that association.\u00a0 He learned of the death of my brother (who died driving a truck) while driving\u00a0 his truck\u00a0 and how sad that was.\u00a0 He was very helpful to our family going through that time.
