Lipscomb III"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6975 alignright\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/theo-lipscomb.jpg\" alt=\"Theo Lipscomb III\" width=\"480\" height=\"330\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/theo-lipscomb.jpg 480w, https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/theo-lipscomb-300x206.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/>Theo \u201cTed\u201d Lipscomb, 78, Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away August 18, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Theo was born January 3, 1942 to Theo E. and Edna Lipscomb in New Orleans, La.<\/p>\n<p>Ted retired from the United States Navy as a Petty Officer First Class.\u00a0 After his Navy career Ted began working for the US Postal Service, retiring after many years of service.\u00a0 Ted was highly active spending several years as a volunteer police officer, active at St. Ann Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Masonic Lodge, and Sons of the American Revolution.\u00a0 He was a great husband, father and grandfather.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Paul and Theo Lipscomb.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter, Suzanne Schnell; sons, Charles (Shelly) Lipscomb and Joseph Lipscomb; sister, Sharon (Ralph) Rojas; grandchildren, Sarah (Sean) Wall, Amy Gent, Natalie Lipscomb and Alaina Lipscomb.<\/p>\n<p>Visitation will be held fro 6 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, Mo.\u00a0 A private graveside service will be held at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Mo. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions to Disabled American Veterans on his behalf to honor his service to our country.<\/p>\n<p>Arrangements are in care of Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>Lipscomb Family:<br \/>\nI wanted to send sincere condolences from the Browns. I personally recall fondly childhood memories of getting to visit \/ stay with the family and how Uncle Ted tied everything together and made sure this only child felt welcome hanging out with everyone! I have referenced trying &#8216;blue mashed potatoes&#8217; many times as sampled in Ponchatoula with your family!<br \/>\nOur sympathies are with you all at this super challenging time.<br \/>\nRick Brown<\/p>\n<p>Very sad.
