{"id":7075,"date":"2020-09-10T21:17:02","date_gmt":"2020-09-10T21:17:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/?p=7075"},"modified":"2024-07-26T22:12:17","modified_gmt":"2024-07-26T22:12:17","slug":"james-jimmy-cheek","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/index.php\/2020\/09\/10\/james-jimmy-cheek\/","title":{"rendered":"James \u201cJimmy\u201d Cheek"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7079 alignright\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/james-cheek.jpg\" alt=\"James Cheek\" width=\"320\" height=\"285\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/james-cheek.jpg 320w, https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/james-cheek-300x267.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/>James \u201cJimmy\u201d Cheek, 72, Lawson, Mo., passed away September 10, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Jimmy was born January 17, 1948 in Excelsior Springs, Mo., to James and Virginia (Shearer) Cheek.\u00a0 His father died in a vehicle accident before he was born, Virginia later married Stephen Nolker who raised him as his own.\u00a0\u00a0 Jimmy graduated Lawson High School in 1966.\u00a0 He went to Wentworth Military Academy for two years, where he played football, and then went on to graduate from William Jewell.\u00a0 He worked at Lawson Bank before going to work at Ford Motor Company, retiring after 30 plus years.\u00a0 Jimmy married Debbie Green on July 26, 1996.\u00a0 He loved playing golf and drinking with his buddies at Excelsior Springs Golf Club, playing town team baseball, watching KC Chiefs and Mizzou and spending time with his family.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by his wife, Debbie of the home; children, Ryan Cheek of Kansas City, Mo., Kelly (Renae) Cheek of Lawson, Mo.; Lisa (Tim) Broughton of Lawson, Mo., Tricia Wartenbee of Richmond, Mo., Melyssa Cheek of Kansas City, Mo., and Eric (Nicole) Wartenbee of Nebraska; sister, Stephanie (Donnie) Myers of Lawson, Mo.; brother, Stephen (Mark) Nolker of Peacham, Vt.; 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, September 14, 2020 with memorial service following at Lawson Christian and Presbyterian Church with burial at Lawson Cemetery.\u00a0 The family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of choice.<\/p>\n<p>Arrangements in care of Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home Lawson Chapel.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>Debbie, just want you to know we are thinking about you and the family at this time.
