{"id":7217,"date":"2020-10-04T01:14:43","date_gmt":"2020-10-04T01:14:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/?p=7217"},"modified":"2024-07-26T22:08:05","modified_gmt":"2024-07-26T22:08:05","slug":"barbara-fox-thornton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/index.php\/2020\/10\/04\/barbara-fox-thornton\/","title":{"rendered":"Barbara Fox Thornton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7219 alignright\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/barbara_thornton.jpg\" alt=\"Barbara Fox Thornton\" width=\"320\" height=\"443\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/barbara_thornton.jpg 320w, https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/barbara_thornton-217x300.jpg 217w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/>1940 ~ 2020<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Barbara Fox Thornton, 79, succumbed to her battle with cancer on Sunday, October 4, 2020.\u00a0 Barbara was born December 28, 1940 to Guthrie and Joyce (Henton) Cockrill in Chillicothe, Mo.<\/p>\n<p>Barbara spent the majority of her working career as an Executive Secretary for Graves Truck Lines and the Yellow Freight company.\u00a0 She was strong in her Christian faith and a member of Northern Hills Baptist Church in Kearney, Mo., for over 20 years until moving to Fort Worth, Texas in 2017 to be closer to her son, David.\u00a0 Barbara enjoyed reading, movies, music, being on the lake and spending time with family.<\/p>\n<p>Barbara is survived by her son, David M. Fox and wife, Kristi; granddaughters, Bethany, Faith and Hannah; and great granddaughter, Shaylee.\u00a0 In addition, Barbara is survived by her late husband Jerry Thornton\u2019s children, Tracy Faust, Troy Thornton, Toby Thornton, Tim Thornton and their families.\u00a0 Barbara is also survived by her five brothers and sisters, Billie Sue Power (JD), Mike Cockrill (Jan), Betty Farnan (Philip), Brenda Kalinowski (Mike), Pat Cockrill (Diana) and numerous nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>Services will be held Sunday, October 25, 2020 at the Northern Hills Baptist Church in Kearney, Mo.\u00a0 Visitation is from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following.\u00a0 The burial services will be private.<\/p>\n<div class=\"pdfprnt-buttons pdfprnt-buttons-post
