She graduated from Marshall High School in 1965, and Magna Cum Laude from Missouri Valley College in 1971. On June 8, 1969, she married Robert Edward Sanders, who preceded her in death.<\/p>\n<p>Neta worked as a bookkeeper and administrative assistant before retiring.\u00a0 She was a long time member of Beta Sigma Phi, as well as P.E.O., Coterie, and Study Club.<\/p>\n<p>She was an active member of the Barbee Memorial Presbyterian Church.<\/p>\n<p>Neta enjoyed china painting, as well as basket weaving in her free time.<\/p>\n<p>She is survived by her two daughters, Leslie Leonhard and her husband, Chris, and Jennifer Kronewitter and her husband, Jason; and three grandsons, Jacob, Cade, and Colin Leonhard. In addition to her daughters, she is survived by her four sisters, Lee Hamilton and her husband George, Jean Dowell and her husband Gary, Joyce Davis and her husband Chuck, and Connie Soendker and her husband Dale;\u00a0 as well, as her mother-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Sanders.<\/p>\n<p>Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, MO.<\/p>\n<p>The family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer\u2019s Association.<\/p>\n<p>Arrangements are under the direction of Bross and Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>We are so sorry for the loss of your Mother. Love you both and your great families.<br \/>\nMolly<\/p>\n<p>We are saddened at the loss of our sweet friend, Neta.\u00a0 The only solace is that she is with her loving husband, Robert, again.<br \/>\nWe have so many memories of happy times spent with Neta and Robert including trips to the Masters Tournament and\u00a0 our \u201cleaf peakin\u201d trip through 5 Northeast states.\u00a0 We even got to share Neta &amp; Robert\u2019s joy when they found the grave of Robert\u2019s revolutionary relative.<br \/>\nThe best memories are the many hours we just visited, laughed and enjoyed each other\u2019s company.\u00a0 Neta always made people feel welcome and special.\u00a0 She was kind, generous, ever-helpful, talented &amp; enjoyed sharing her talent with others.\u00a0 Through the classes she taught, many others learned basket weaving.\u00a0 Neta was so patient with those of us who were not so innately talented at that!\u00a0 We must add that she was the best cook in the universe.<br \/>\nNeta made this world a better place.\u00a0 She made people better for knowing her.\u00a0 She will be greatly missed.\u00a0 \u00a0May she rest in peace.<br \/>\nOur condolences to Leslie, Chris, Jennifer, Jason and those fine grandsons who were greatly loved by Neta &amp; Robert.\u00a0 God bless you all.<br \/>\nCindy &amp; Jack O\u2018Dell<\/p>\n<p>My deepest sympathy on the loss of you dear mother.\u00a0 Her beautiful smile, and welcoming eyes made the world a brighter place!
