{"id":8177,"date":"2021-01-21T18:45:39","date_gmt":"2021-01-21T18:45:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/?p=8177"},"modified":"2024-07-26T18:02:43","modified_gmt":"2024-07-26T18:02:43","slug":"ralph-eugene-robeson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/index.php\/2021\/01\/21\/ralph-eugene-robeson\/","title":{"rendered":"Ralph Eugene Robeson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-8179\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/ralph-gene-robeson.jpg\" alt=\"Ralph Eugene Robeson\" width=\"280\" height=\"469\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/ralph-gene-robeson.jpg 280w, https:\/\/brossspidlemonuments.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/ralph-gene-robeson-179x300.jpg 179w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 280px) 100vw, 280px\" \/>Ralph Eugene &#8220;Gene&#8221; Robeson, 65, passed away on January 21, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Gene was born in Kirksville, Mo., on November 14, 1955.\u00a0 He was the eldest son of Ralph W. and Floy (Jerome) Robeson.\u00a0 He grew up in the Kirksville area until moving to Liberty.\u00a0 He graduated from Liberty High School in 1973.\u00a0 He worked at Hallmark cards for 15 years.\u00a0 While working there he attended Maple Woods and William Jewell College.\u00a0 In 1988 Gene went to work for the city of Cameron in the park maintenance department.\u00a0 He also was involved with many of the youth sports programs for several years.\u00a0 Gene married Marcia Morrow in July of 1978.\u00a0 They had two children, Katie Robeson Brown and Scott Eugene Robeson.\u00a0 They were married for 42 years.<\/p>\n<p>Gene was always an outdoorsman.\u00a0 He was an expert fisherman and participated in bass fishing tournaments for many years.\u00a0 He also had a love for baseball, coaching his son for many years.\u00a0 Gene also had a love for horses and was active in teaching that love to his grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Floy; one sister,\u00a0 Beverly; and grandson, Gaige.<\/p>\n<p>He leaves his wife, Marcia; daughter, Katie; son, Scott; six grandchildren; brothers, Jerome and Michael Robeson; and sisters, Elaine Casey, Sharron Doss, and Betty Lockwood; as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins.<\/p>\n<p>Gene will lie in state from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Bross &amp; Spidle Funeral Home &#8211; Lawson Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Lawson Cemetery.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #efdbd9; padding: 1em;\">\n<h5>Our Sincere Condolences<\/h5>\n<p>I am so very sorry for this loss.<br \/>\nAlways enjoyed talking to him in person and on Facebook.<br \/>\nHe was the one that got me started on the miniatures.<br \/>\nHe was always so proud of all his grandchildren and shared many stories about\u00a0 them.<br \/>\nRobin Ingrassia<\/p>\n<p>Was great man, known him for many years.
