Wilbur Dean Brockhoff, 77, of Excelsior Springs, MO, died Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at home.<\/p>\nWilbur Dean Brockhoff, 77, of Excelsior Springs, MO, died Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at home.<\/p>\n
Wilbur was born on December 23, 1943 in Kansas City, MO, the son of the late Charles “Carl” Jacob Martin Brockhoff and Mayme Anna Fredericka Brockhoff. Wilbur was raised in the Concordia, MO, area and graduated from Concordia High School in 1961. As a child, Wilbur was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Ernestville, MO. On March 7, 1964, he married M. Kay McGowan. In 1971, they became members of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Wilbur enjoyed playing cards with his buddies and grandchildren, especially pinochle. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and antiquing.<\/p>\n
Wilbur was preceded in death by both sisters, Doris Hemme and Loretta Mueller, as well as three nephews.<\/p>\n
Wilbur is survived by his loving wife, Kay; three children, Cathy McIntire (Darren), DeAnna Massey (Dana), and Kevin Brockhoff (Trisha); 15 nieces and nephews, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Excelsior Springs. Service immediately following at 10:30 a.m. Reception for family only after the interment at Hillcrest Cemetery in Excelsior Springs, MO.<\/p>\n
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions to either Parkinson\u2019s Research, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or National Multiple Sclerosis Society<\/p>\n

Saddened by the passing of my father-in-law Wilbur Brockhoff. He was a humble and decent man that will be missed by family and friends. On a personal note, I hated playing spoons against him because he had an extraordinarily quick right hand. Rest in peace Collie.

My deepest sympathies for all of you. Wilber was an amazing man. My heart goes out to all of you. In all my years of being a member of Mt Calvary Lutheran Church I enjoyed sitting near or in front of Wilbur. He had such a beautiful voice. I just loved hearing him sing the hymns. He had a kind soul. His presence will be missed. Kay and Family Having known Wilbur for fifty years since he came to Mount Calvary, I never knew him to be angry, he was always a friend and his super positive attitude towards people was so appreciated and loved. \nWilbur our most sincere condolences for the loss of Wilbur. I met Wilber when he took the time to take my my father Andrew W Martens to medical appointments when I was unavailable. It was always good to see Wilbur to see him at church and I know he was proud of his family. He will be missed by all that knew him and we must recall the good things and always know that he is now in Heaven as we go forward with our lives.
