Alan Pafford

Alan R. Pafford, 69, of Independence, Mo., died at 5:40 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014 at his home.
Alan was born March 2, 1945 in Hannibal, Mo., to Hubert T. and Nellie North Pafford. Alan married Karen on August 11, 1973 in St. Louis, Mo.
Alan leaves behind his wife, Karen; two children, Timothy Pafford of Independence and Beverly Cook of Blue Springs; three brothers, Bill Pafford of New Braunfels, Texas, David Pafford of Waco, Texas, Bruce Pafford of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two granddaughters.
Alan was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, and sister.
Alan retired from Argus Health Systems in Kansas City in 2010. He was a member of Susquehanna Baptist Church in Independence. Alan served in the children’s ministry as a nursery teacher.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Susquehanna Baptist Church in Independence, Mo., followed by a gathering of friends and family.
Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
