Amelia "Amy" Rohaus

Surrounded by family, Amelia “Amy” Ann Rohaus, 57, of Lawson, Mo., passed away on November 25, 2015 at Kansas City Hospice in Kansas City, Mo., after her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the loving wife and best friend of Richard W. Rohaus. They shared many wonderful memories together.

Amy was born on December 22, 1957, in Kansas City, Kans., to Daniel M. Burke and Barbara Burke. She graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1976. After working 26 years as the human resource director at Kryger Glass in Kansas City, Mo., she retired so that she was able to spend more time with her family.

Amy was the heart of the family and the life of the party. She loved vacations, whether it be a short drive to the lake, a tropical week on a beach, a crazy old lady trip with her girls, or a quiet fishing trip with her husband, she was always up for a new adventure. Those that knew her loved her and can attest to her endless quest for fun. She was a loving mother, sister, and aunt, but was never afraid of putting those closest to her in their place. She was a caring and honest friend and always gave one hundred percent of herself to relationships. Her most cherished role might have been that of Grandma or “Mamu.” Many memories were made helping her cook and cheering on her favorite sports teams. Amy lived by example and taught us all that rules were meant to be broken, to dance like nobody’s watching, and to live life to the fullest.

She is reunited with her father, Daniel M. Burke, and her sister, Shawn Burke McEntire.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Rohaus; her children, Danny Duncan, Scott and Kristin Duncan, Roseanna and Lance Trout, Ricky and Sarah Rohaus, and Lena and Sean Rellihan; her grandchildren, Tucker, Breanna, Isaac, Max, Audrey, Kessler, Teresa, and AnnaMarie. She is also survived by her mother, Barbara Burke Tabereaux and husband, Rudy Tabereaux; siblings, Mark and Moe Burke, Susan Miller, Pat and RaeAnn Burke, Mac McEntire, and Beth Burke; nieces, nephews, and a host of long time friends.

Visitation will be held Friday evening, December 4, 2015 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Lawson Bible Church in Lawson, Mo. A funeral service celebrating her life will be officiated by Pastor Art Endsley on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lawson Bible Church. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation or the Kansas City Hospice Foundation.

Arrangements are through Bross and Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, Mo.
