Anna Mae Sloan
Anna Mae (Odor) Sloan, 87, Excelsior Springs, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 24, 2011. Mrs. Sloan was born Sept. 16, 1923, the daughter of Ward and Bertha O’Dell Duncan. She was in the cleaning business and also worked at Woodside Jewelry. She was a member of North New Garden Church. She was first married to J.W. Odor, then was married to George Sloan in 1979.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, J.W. Odor; and her siblings, Dorothy Christensen, Woodroe and Darle Wayne Duncan. Survivors include her children, Janet Sisson and Carolyn Wright; stepson, John Sloan; stepdaughter, Vicki Baker; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at North New Garden Church in Excelsior Springs. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at North New Garden Cemetery. Arrangements are through Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
