Betty H. Roberge
Betty Houx Roberge, 79, of Prairie Village, Kans., passed away December
31, 2012. Betty was born May 9, 1933 in Centerview, Mo., and graduated
from Odessa High School in 1951. She earned a B.A. in 1955 from Central
Missiouri State College, where she was president of the Theta Sigma
Upsilon sorority and has a M.A. from Lesley College in Cambridge, Mass.
She began her elementary art education career in Brentwood, Mo., in
1955, and from 1968-1996 taught in the KCMO School District. She
substitute taught in the Shawnee Mission School District from
1997-2008. She was a past-president of the Chi Chapter of Delta Kappa
Gamma, an active member of the Leawood Garden Club and the Red Hat
Society.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert A. Roberge Sr.; son,
Rob Roberge of Prairie Village; daughter, Libby Roberge-Polyviou and
son-in-law, Michael Polyviou of Holmdel, N.J.; brother, Guy Houx,
Holden, Mo.; and three grandchildren, Perri Polyviou, Peter Polyviou
and Maddie Roberge.
The memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 11 a.m.
at St. Ann Catholic Church, 7231 Mission Road, Prairie Village, Kans.
Visitation is 10 to 11 a.m. prior to service. Private inurnment.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Benedictine Sisters of
Perpetual Adoration, Clyde, Mo.
