Billie Jane Waechter
Billie Jane Waechter, 78, of Gladstone, Mo., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 1, 2012. Billie was born on June 30, 1933 in Claycomo, Mo., to John A. Robinson and Ruby L. Bratcher Robinson. Billie attended North Kansas City High School, Class of 1952. Billie married Clarence (Spud) Waechter on September 29, 1956. She and Clarence owned and operated Waechter Floor Covering of Liberty, Mo., for 33 years and retired in 1990. Billie served as president of the seniors group at Saint Andrew Apostle Catholic Church during the past five years. She was also active with the North Kansas City LIFT Seniors Program. Billie was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, parents and sister, Barbara Powers.
Billie is survived by her six daughters, Cynthia Barnes and husband, Greg, Pamela Ratliff, Kimberly Lynch, Carol Todd and husband, Conny, Donna Hanson and husband, Brian, and Kathy Wolters and husband, Paul; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, Gladstone, Mo. A dinner will be held at the church at 1 p.m. Friends may call between 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 4 at Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, where a rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be at Glenridge Cemetery, Liberty, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to The Congregation of the Sisters Servants of Mary, Minister to the Sick, 800 North 18th Street, Kansas City, KS 66102. The family would like to thank the staff of North Care Hospice House for caring for Billie during her illness.
