Charles Carroll Dagley
Charles Carroll Dagley, 76, of Kearney, Mo., passed away October 9,
2012. Mr. Dagley was born January 21, 1936 in Laverne, Okla. His
parents were Kenneth and Jewell Vivian Dagley. Charles graduated in
1954 from Kearney High School. On June 12, 1955, Charles married Norma
Ann Dean. He graduated in 1958 from University of Missouri at Columbia
with a degree in Business Administration. After his graduation, Charles
became co-owner of Dagley Chevrolet in Kearney with his father,
Kenneth. In 1965, he became sole owner of the dealership, which had
been established in 1928.
Charles was a very active member of the Kearney First Baptist Church,
as well as the community. At church he was a Sunday School teacher and
served as the Chairman of Deacons. In the community, Charles was an
original founder of the Kearney Jaycees, Lion's Club, and the Kearney
Swim Club. He also served on the Kearney Trust Co. Board of Directors.
Charles was an avid big game hunter and fisherman. He also loved
coaching girls softball, the MU Tigers, and the KC Chiefs. Most of all,
Charles loved his wife of 57 years, Norma, and his family.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Rodney
Klein.
Charles is survived by his wife, Norma, of the home, and two daughters,
Kim Day and husband, Tom, of Stilwell, Kans., and Angie Klein of Ozark,
Mo. Charles is also survived by grandchildren, Nick Seuell and wife,
Rebecca, of Kearney, Brandon Seuell and wife, Natalie, and great
grandson, Saxton, of Liberty, Mo., and Avery and Logan Klein of Ozark,
Mo.; sister, Lois B. Grogan of Torrence, Calif.; brother, Harold N.
Cobb of Hanahan, S.C.; extended family members, Jennie, Aaron, and
Henry Day-Burget of Portland, Oreg., and Chris Day of Overland Park,
Kans. Charles is also survived by many other close relatives, friends
and business associates.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2012 at First
Baptist Church of Kearney. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m.,
Saturday, October 13, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Kearney. Burial
will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Kearney. Donations may be made to
Hospice Advantage.
